Lufthansa Receives First A350-1000

Lufthansa’s First Airbus A350-1000 Arrives Ahead of Munich Delivery

Lufthansa has taken delivery of its first Airbus A350-1000, marking another step in the airline’s fleet renewal programme.

The aircraft, which carries a special 100th-anniversary livery, is expected to be transferred from Toulouse to Munich in autumn after completing test flights, cabin work, and final acceptance procedures.

Special Anniversary Aircraft

The aircraft features a blue and white livery with markings “1926 | 2026” and “100” to celebrate the airline’s centenary. Registered as D-AIFA, it will be officially named “Deutschland” in an upcoming ceremony. This delivery marks a major milestone for the Lufthansa Group, being the 700th Airbus delivered to the airline.

New Generation Long-Haul Aircraft

The Airbus A350-1000 measures 73.8 metres in length, making it seven metres longer than the A350-900 already operating within Lufthansa’s fleet.

The aircraft is configured to accommodate 300 passengers across four cabin classes:

  • First Class
  • Business Class
  • Premium Economy
  • Economy Class

The airline has ordered 15 Airbus A350-1000 aircraft, with deliveries scheduled through 2030.

Expanding the Anniversary Fleet

The airline’s fleet now includes the A350-1000, the seventh aircraft to showcase the centenary livery.

Other aircraft carrying the commemorative design include:

  • Airbus A350-900
  • Airbus A380
  • Boeing 787-9
  • Boeing 747-8
  • Two Airbus A320neo aircraft

The anniversary fleet commemorates the airline’s 100-year milestone and supports its ongoing fleet modernization efforts.
