Hyatt Plans Grand Hyatt Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe
Grand Hyatt Victoria Falls to Open in Zimbabwe by 2027
Hyatt Hotels Corporation has announced plans to open Grand Hyatt Victoria Falls The Kingdom in late 2027, following the signing of a management agreement with an affiliate of Albwardy Investments LLC.
Located in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe, the hotel will become Hyatt’s second branded property in the country. The existing property, originally built in 1966 and redeveloped in 1999, will undergo a comprehensive renovation before reopening under the Grand Hyatt brand.
New Chapter for Victoria Falls Hospitality
Situated within walking distance of the Victoria Falls rainforest, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the hotel will provide guests with convenient access to one of Africa’s well-known natural attractions, as well as nearby safari experiences, guided tours, restaurants and cultural activities.

Ludwig Bouldoukian, Regional Vice President of Development, Middle East and Africa at Hyatt, said the project reflects Hyatt’s continued expansion across Africa while offering World of Hyatt members more travel options across the region.

Ali Albwardy, Chairman of Albwardy Investments, said the redevelopment will preserve the property’s long-standing presence in Victoria Falls while introducing a refreshed hospitality experience that reflects the destination’s culture and heritage.
Planned Facilities
Upon completion, the hotel is expected to feature 245 guest rooms along with 1,800 square metres of meeting and event space.
Guests will also have access to three dining venues, a spa, fitness centre and a grand lobby lounge designed for both leisure and business travellers.
Located around 20 minutes from Victoria Falls International Airport, the hotel will also be the closest property to the entrance of the Victoria Falls National Park on the Zimbabwean side of the border.
Once the hotel opens, World of Hyatt members will be able to earn and redeem loyalty points during their stay.
