Fastjet Zimbabwe Partnership Strengthens Etihad’s Africa Network

Etihad Airways has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Fastjet Zimbabwe to establish an interline partnership, a codeshare agreement, and a future frequent-flyer partnership.

The agreement, signed in Harare on 7 July 2026, will allow passengers to book journeys across both airlines on a single ticket. Ticket sales under the partnership will begin on 24 August 2026.

Under the agreement, airline passengers travelling to Zimbabwe will be able to connect onward with Fastjet Zimbabwe to Bulawayo, Victoria Falls, and Johannesburg through a single booking.

Supporting Etihad’s Zimbabwe Expansion

The partnership complements the airline’s planned Abu Dhabi–Harare service, set to begin on 24 March 2027. The new route will offer easier access to destinations across Zimbabwe via Fastjet’s domestic network.

For Fastjet Zimbabwe passengers, the agreement provides access to Abu Dhabi and the airline’s wider international network, with connections to destinations across the Middle East, Asia and Europe.

The partnership also includes plans for Fastjet Zimbabwe to become the 32nd airline partner of Etihad Guest, enabling future loyalty programme benefits across both airlines.

Arik De, Chief Revenue and Commercial Officer at Etihad Airways, said the partnership supports the airline’s continued growth across Africa while making travel within Zimbabwe more convenient for passengers.

Vivian Ruwuya, Chief Commercial Officer of Fastjet Zimbabwe, added that the partnership will give travellers in Zimbabwe easier access to Etihad’s global network through Abu Dhabi.

Travel under the new partnership will be available for bookings from 24 August 2026.
