Interactive Displays to Greet Arriving Passengers

Starting during the week of 1 June, travellers will see FIFA World Cup welcome banners and interactive digital posters throughout the airport.

One of the featured attractions allows visitors to interact with a football-themed game where they attempt to block shots on goal from a robot named Striker.

The airport will also introduce holographic welcome screens featuring messages from Brandi Chastain and Daniel Lurie.

Football-Themed Photo Area Opens in Terminal 2

Beginning on 9 June, passengers can visit a football-themed photo opportunity area located post-security in Terminal 2.

The installation will feature oversized footballs and a goal net designed for visitor photos and fan engagement.

Airport staff will also host activities including football trivia competitions and prize raffles with miniature footballs awarded to participants.

Travellers will additionally have opportunities to demonstrate football dribbling skills through interactive activities.

Live FIFA Match Viewing Available

SFO will place large-screen monitors in several airport locations to allow passengers to watch FIFA World Cup matches while travelling.

The viewing areas are intended to help fans follow tournament action even while in transit through the airport.

According to airport officials, the activations are designed to extend the tournament atmosphere beyond stadiums and provide travellers with additional entertainment throughout their airport journey.

FIFA World Cup Celebrations Expand Across the Bay Area

The airport programme forms part of broader FIFA World Cup celebrations taking place throughout the San Francisco Bay Area.

Tourism and transportation organisations across the region are preparing special events and fan experiences as international visitors arrive for the tournament.
