
Tourism Malaysia and Singapore Airlines Strengthen Regional Tourism Connectivity
Tourism Malaysia and Singapore Airlines have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to strengthen tourism promotion and improve travel connectivity between Malaysia and Singapore.
The agreement was signed in May 2026 at The Majestic Hotel in Kuala Lumpur.
The partnership is designed to support tourism growth, increase international visitor arrivals and strengthen regional aviation connectivity through Singapore Airlines’ global network.
Partnership Supports Visit Malaysia 2026 Campaign
According to Tourism Malaysia, the collaboration will support the ongoing Visit Malaysia 2026 campaign by increasing Malaysia’s visibility in international tourism markets.
The partnership will focus on joint marketing campaigns and tourism promotion activities targeting travellers from Europe, Australia and the Asia-Pacific region.
Officials stated that the agreement also supports Malaysia’s wider tourism recovery and aviation growth strategies.

Singapore Airlines to Support International Promotion
Mohd Amirul Rizal Abdul Rahim said the partnership comes at an important time as Malaysia increases tourism promotion efforts ahead of Visit Malaysia 2026.
He stated that the collaboration aims to improve connectivity and attract more quality tourist arrivals through coordinated international campaigns.
Louis Leonard Arul said the airline will align promotional efforts with Tourism Malaysia across key overseas markets.
He added that the airline plans to promote Malaysia’s culture, hospitality and tourism experiences through its international route network and transit connectivity via Singapore.
Regional Connectivity Remains a Key Focus
The agreement highlights the role of Singapore as an important regional aviation hub connecting travellers to Malaysia.
Singapore Airlines currently operates an extensive international network linking destinations across Europe, Asia-Pacific and Australia with Southeast Asia.
The partnership aims to use these connections to improve access for international travellers visiting Malaysia.
One-Year Collaboration Begins in 2026
The Memorandum of Understanding will officially begin in May 2026 and continue for one year.
Tourism Malaysia stated that the cooperation is expected to support tourism demand and strengthen momentum for Visit Malaysia 2026 while contributing to tourism growth into 2027.
