Cygnett Inn Project in Motihari Focuses on Business Travel and Events

Cygnett Hotels & Resorts has announced the signing of Cygnett Inn Motihari, a brownfield hospitality project in Motihari, Bihar. The development adds to the company’s presence in the state as it continues its expansion across Tier II and Tier III cities in India.

The hotel will operate under the Cygnett Inn brand and is being developed to serve business travellers, leisure guests, social gatherings, and regional events.

Located in Bihar’s East Champaran district, Motihari has witnessed increasing commercial and infrastructure activity in recent years. The city is also recognised for its historical connection with Mahatma Gandhi’s Champaran Satyagraha movement. Rising business movement, educational activity, and improving connectivity have contributed to the demand for organised hospitality facilities in the region.

The property will feature 70 rooms, along with facilities such as an all-day dining restaurant, a gymnasium, a spa, and a swimming pool. The hotel will also include spaces designed for meetings, celebrations, and social events.

A key part of the project will be its banqueting and event infrastructure. The property will include three event venues, including a 5,500 sq. ft. banquet hall connected to a 17,000 sq. ft. outdoor lawn suitable for weddings, social functions, and large gatherings. In addition, the hotel will feature two meeting spaces measuring around 1,600 sq. ft. and 575 sq. ft. for conferences, corporate meetings, and private events.

Commenting on the development, Sarbendra Sarkar, Founder and Managing Director, Cygnett Hotels & Resorts, said that hospitality demand in India is gradually moving beyond metro cities, with regional markets witnessing rising demand for branded accommodation and event facilities, driven by economic activity and improving connectivity. He added that Motihari remains an important market for the company’s expansion plans.

The hotel is expected to become operational by the end of this year.
