Delta Air Lines Distributes USD 1.3 Billion in Employee Profit Sharing for 2025
Delta Air Lines has announced a USD 1.3 billion profit-sharing payout to employees worldwide, reflecting the airline’s financial performance in 2025. The distribution represents an estimated 8.9% of eligible annual earnings, equating to more than four weeks of additional pay on average. The payout will be made on February 13, traditionally observed by the airline as Profit Sharing Day.

The annual initiative highlights the brand’s long-standing emphasis on a people-first culture and its approach to sharing the benefits of business performance with its workforce. According to the airline, profit sharing remains central to its philosophy that sustained success is closely linked to employee engagement and investment.
Under Delta’s profit-sharing formula, employees receive 10% of the first USD 2.5 billion in earnings and 20% of profits above that threshold. The 2025 payout ranks among the airline’s top five profit-sharing distributions to date and is expected to exceed the combined payouts of many industry peers.
Since 2022, Delta has shared close to USD 5 billion in profits with its employees, equivalent to more than 18 weeks of cumulative pay. The airline continues to receive recognition for its workplace culture, including placements on employer rankings by Fortune and Forbes, reinforcing its position as a leading employer within the global aviation sector.

“The passion and dedication of Delta people carried us through 2025 and will continue to propel us forward,” said Chief People Officer Allison Ausband. “Their unwavering focus on safety and care is what builds trust and a deep loyalty for customers, and continued success for Delta.”
