Taj Hessischer Hof Frankfurt Marks a New Chapter for Luxury Hospitality

Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) has announced the opening of Taj Hessischer Hof Frankfurt, marking the debut of its flagship Taj brand in Continental Europe. The launch represents a significant step in the company’s international growth strategy, bringing the brand’s signature hospitality to one of Europe’s leading financial and cultural centres.

Puneet Chhatwal, Managing Director and CEO of IHCL, said the opening aligns with the company’s vision to strengthen its presence in key gateway cities worldwide. He noted that Taj, established in 1903 and now operating more than 150 hotels across 15 countries, continues to expand its international footprint while delivering its distinctive blend of Indian hospitality and global luxury.

Located at one of Frankfurt’s most recognised addresses, the 126-room Taj Hessischer Hof Frankfurt has reopened following extensive renovations. The property combines historic character with contemporary comfort, offering guests a refined luxury experience in the heart of the city.

The Taj Hessischer Hof hotel’s dining venues include Bombay Brasserie, serving Indian cuisine inspired by the vibrant culinary traditions of Mumbai; Jimmy’s Bar, known for its live piano performances and signature cocktails; and the Lobby Bar, which offers a selection of teas, coffees, and pastries throughout the day.

Simon Lutz, Partner at Peakside Capital and owner of the hotel, said the reopening brings together the property’s rich heritage with Taj’s luxury hospitality expertise. Boris Schran, also a Partner at Peakside Capital, described the reopening as an important milestone for the historic hotel, which has long been recognised as one of Frankfurt’s established five-star properties.

Guests can also access J Wellness Circle, Taj’s wellness concept inspired by Ayurvedic traditions, as well as a fully equipped fitness centre. The property features three event and meeting spaces designed for corporate gatherings and private functions, as well as The Chambers, Taj’s exclusive members-only business club.

Albert Mayr, General Manager of Taj Hessischer Hof Frankfurt, said the hotel has been thoughtfully reimagined for modern travellers while preserving the legacy and character that have defined the property for decades.

Frankfurt remains one of Europe’s most important financial hubs and is home to landmarks including Römerberg, St. Bartholomew’s Cathedral, Palmengarten and the museums that line the River Main, making it a popular destination for both business and leisure travellers.
