Sterling Holiday Resorts Opens Sterling Nirmaya Dharamshala in Himachal Pradesh

Sterling Holiday Resorts has announced the opening of Sterling Nirmaya Dharamshala, a contemporary retreat overlooking the Dhauladhar ranges. The new resort marks Sterling’s sixth property in Himachal Pradesh and expands the brand’s leisure portfolio in North India.

Sterling Nirmaya Dharamshala brings together mountain surroundings with a food-and-beverage-led social focus. Located above the Kangra Valley, the resort is positioned to cater to family holidays, small celebrations, and group stays.

The property offers a range of rooms and suites, each with a private sit-out designed to take in valley views and the mountain climate. Shared spaces, including a rooftop infinity swimming pool, are designed to encourage interaction and relaxation.

Dining is central to the resort’s offering. Mezban, the all-day dining restaurant, serves Indian dishes, Himachali-inspired flavours, and global selections. Ignis, the rooftop bar, is designed for evening gatherings with views of the surrounding landscape. Summit, a flexible event venue, supports meetings, workshops, and small celebrations.

Commenting on the launch, Vikram Lalvani, Managing Director & CEO, Sterling Holiday Resorts, said the addition of Dharamshala strengthens the company’s Himachal Pradesh portfolio and supports the development of connected travel circuits across the state, combining culture, spirituality, leisure, and outdoor experiences under a consistent service framework.

Located a short distance from McLeod Ganj, the resort provides access to monasteries, local markets, and outdoor activities such as the Triund trek, Bhagsu Waterfall, and day trips to Bir–Billing.

Speaking on the partnership, Nitasha Jamwal, Managing Director of Nirmaya, said the vision for the project was to create a retreat that attracts travellers from across India while offering refined hospitality in a Himalayan setting. She noted that partnering with Sterling aligned with this approach due to the brand’s experience in India’s leisure travel segment and its ability to integrate regional character with a national footprint.

With this opening, Sterling continues to expand its portfolio of leisure destinations, offering travellers the option to explore multiple regions through connected journeys while maintaining consistent comfort and service standards.
