Jurgen Ammerstorfer, GM at Anantara Palais Hansen Vienna Hotel

The Anantara Palais Hansen Vienna Hotel has appointed luxury hotel expert Jurgen Ammerstorfer as General Manager, starting 7 January 2025. In this position, Ammerstorfer will manage the final touches of the hotel’s extensive renovations, launch a complete range of Anantara experiences, enhance the dining and bar selections, and introduce the Anantara Spa.

The Austrian native joined Anantara Palais Hansen from The Ritz-Carlton, Vienna, where he served as General Manager from 2020 to 2024. With over 30 years of experience in the travel and hospitality industry, Ammerstorfer boasts an accomplished track record in destination marketing and hotel management across various disciplines, including food and beverage, rooms, sales and marketing, and revenue management.

Throughout his career, he has been employed by top international luxury hospitality brands in resort and city settings across Europe, the US, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia. His roles with Leading Hotels of the World, IHG, Park Plaza, Preferred Hotels, Hilton, Celebrity Cruises, Shangri-La, and Marriott Luxury Brands—particularly in managing The London Edition—have honed his fundamental entrepreneurial and leadership skills.

“I am thrilled to be joining the team at Anantara Palais Hansen Vienna Hotel as Vienna prepares to welcome a record number of visitors for the 200th birthday celebrations of Johann Strauss II,” said Jurgen Ammerstorfer.

“Taking the helm of this gem on Ringstrasse when the beloved landmark is being infused with Anantara’s signature spirit of modern luxury is a priceless opportunity.”
