Kimpton Virgilio Appoints Alejandro Gallegos as General Manager

Kimpton Virgilio, located in the Polanco neighborhood of Mexico City, has appointed Alejandro Gallegos as General Manager.

In his new role, Alejandro Gallegos will oversee all aspects of the hotel’s operations, with a focus on enhancing its market positioning while delivering design-led and guest-centric experiences. In addition to his responsibilities at Kimpton Virgilio, he will also support the upcoming launch of Kimpton Castelar in Polanco, further reinforcing the brand’s expansion strategy in the region.

Alejandro brings more than three decades of international hospitality experience, having led both urban and resort properties across Mexico, Argentina, and Uruguay. His expertise spans hotel openings, repositionings, and operational leadership, with a proven track record in improving guest satisfaction and driving commercial performance.

Most recently, he served as General Manager of Hotel Alexander Mexico City, where he led the launch and contributed to its recognition as a Michelin Key hotel. Prior to this, he held leadership roles at Sofitel Montevideo Casino Carrasco and Spa and Grace Cafayate.

Throughout his career, he has played a key role in the opening of seven hotels and the renovation of several others, including properties within the InterContinental Hotels Group portfolio
