JetBlue and United Launch ‘Blue Sky’ Loyalty Partnership
JetBlue and United Airlines have announced a significant step in their collaboration, Blue Sky, allowing loyalty members of both airlines to earn and redeem points or miles across each other’s networks.
Effective immediately, TrueBlue members can earn and redeem points on United’s global network, while MileagePlus members can do the same across JetBlue’s extensive leisure routes. This integration allows travellers to book and enjoy rewards more seamlessly when flying with either carrier.
Customers can now see flight options from both airlines when searching with points or miles on JetBlue or United’s websites and mobile apps. To earn miles or points, members need to enter their loyalty number when booking through the respective airline’s site. Award travel can be redeemed directly on each airline’s platform.
According to a joint statement from the airlines, “With reciprocal earning and redemption now available, Blue Sky is officially taking flight. We’re pleased to provide loyalty members greater flexibility and choice across our complementary networks.”
The partnership will continue to expand in 2026 with additional features, including:
Revenue Booking (Q1 2026): The ability to book itineraries on either airline using cash or miles/points.
Reciprocal Perks (Early 2026): Access to benefits such as priority boarding, preferred seating, and same-day flight changes.
Expanded Travel Options (Early 2026): United’s MileagePlus Travel will be powered by JetBlue’s travel platform, Paisly, offering more hotel, car rental, and insurance options.
JFK Expansion (2027): JetBlue will support United’s growth at JFK’s new Terminal 6, allowing for up to seven daily round-trips.
