InterContinental Halong Bay Resort appoints Grant Thompson as General Manager

InterContinental Halong Bay Resort has announced the appointment of Grant Thompson as General Manager. The resort opened in July 2025 and is located along the coastline overlooking Ha Long Bay.

Grant brings over 35 years of experience across the hospitality sector, with work spanning Asia Pacific, the Middle East, and Africa. His previous roles include leadership positions with brands such as Sofitel, The Leading Hotels of the World, and Wanda Hotels & Resorts, where he was involved in hotel openings and operations.

He joined IHG Hotels & Resorts in 2018 and has since held General Manager roles at InterContinental Changsha and InterContinental Beijing Beichen, where he oversaw hotel operations and performance.

In his new role, Grant will be responsible for overall operations at InterContinental Halong Bay Resort, including guest services, team management, and operational processes. His focus will include overseeing the guest journey and coordinating with teams across departments.

Grant Thompson’s appointment is part of the resort’s ongoing operational development following its opening in 2025.
