IHCL Heritage programme highlights culture and local communities

Indian Hotels Company Limited has introduced HeritEdge celebrations across select hotels to mark World Heritage Day, as part of its ESG+ framework, Paathya.

The two-day programme focuses on India’s intangible cultural heritage, with activities designed to engage both guests and hotel teams while supporting local communities and traditional practices.

Across participating properties, the IHCL initiative offers region-specific experiences. These include culinary sessions centred on regional recipes at Taj Lake Palace and guided heritage walks at Taj Exotica Resort and Spa in Goa. Cultural sessions are also held at Rambagh Palace, alongside craft workshops at Taj Sawai Ranthambore and a local food-led experience at Taj Santacruz.

Wellness-based activities, including yoga and Vedic chanting, are part of the programme at Taj Rishikesh Resort & Spa.

In addition, hotels are hosting storytelling sessions for children and setting up “Heritage Haul” pop-ups to support artisans. These showcase crafts such as Bandhani and Rogan art from Gujarat, block printing from Rajasthan and Tanjore paintings from Tamil Nadu. Evenings of traditional performances are also planned across locations.

The initiative reflects IHCL’s approach to linking hospitality with local culture, focusing on creating experiences that highlight regional traditions while fostering community engagement.
