The third edition of the Taste of Heritage gastronomy series features a collaboration between Radisson Collection Hotel, Gran Vía Bilbao and local gastronomy content creator Alejandro Biel to create a gastronomy video and guide to the city. Additionally, the brand has created a print culinary guide to the city of Bilbao and the surrounding Basque region curated in collaboration with three-Michelin starred Chef Eneko Atxa, who also heads up the signature restaurant Eneko Basque at the Radisson Collection Hotel, Gran Vía Bilbao.

Bilbao Through A New Lens

The Bilbao feature represents the third edition of Radisson Collection’s Gastronomy Series, launched in June 2024 as a collection of gastronomic travel guides for food and travel connoisseurs in exceptional Radisson Collection destinations across the globe. Previous editions of the “Taste of Heritage” series have featured Italian dining destinations Milan and Rome with the Radisson Collection Hotel, Palazzo Touring Club Milan and Radisson Collection Hotel, Roma Antica.

Through rich online and social media amplification of the gastronomy itinerary, travelers can engage with content created at the Radisson Collection Hotel, Gran Vía Bilbao in the heart of the city’s cosmopolitan Gran Via district. Spanish food influencer Alejandro Biel has with the hotel’s Executive Chef Iker Barrenetxea to explore a melding of traditional flavors with innovative techniques. Together, they give us a behind-the-scenes peek at kitchen process and showcase the making of a dish dubbed Royal Oxtail representing a Basque iconic recipe with a modern twist. Alejandro shares how the cooking experience brings him back to fond memories of afternoons in his grandmother’s kitchen.

Created by Radisson Collection and curated by famed chef, Eneko Atxa “A Spanish Guide for Foodies” is a booklet directory of culinary treasures in Bilbao and Basque Country. The guide highlights the iconic Spanish dishes while providing top recommendations for where to go and what to try when exploring the Basque Country and Bilbao as a renowned foodie destination. Ranging from markets and gourmet shops to Pintxos bars and fine dining, travelers will be inspired and well-fed as they explore the authentic flavors of the region. The printed guide is available to all guests staying at the hotel.
