HKIA Enhances Connectivity with Expanded Park & Fly and New Park & Visit Services
Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) has announced the expansion of its cross-border travel services following the extension of the Southbound Travel for Guangdong Vehicles scheme.
The airport will extend its Park & Fly service to all eligible Greater Bay Area (GBA) cities from mid-June 2026 and launch a new Park & Visit service in July, providing additional travel options for passengers and visitors travelling through Hong Kong.
The initiative is designed to improve convenience for travellers driving from mainland China to Hong Kong International Airport for international flights or leisure visits.
Park & Fly Service Expands Across the Greater Bay Area
HKIA first introduced the Park & Fly service in November 2025 for eligible vehicles from Guangzhou, Zhongshan, Zhuhai, Jiangmen and Macau.
Following the expansion of the Southbound Travel for Guangdong Vehicles scheme on 9 June, travellers from Shenzhen, Dongguan, Huizhou, Foshan and Zhaoqing will also become eligible to use the service.
Starting from 15 June, approved users can drive via the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge to HKIA’s automated car park, leave their vehicles and proceed directly to international flights without passing through Hong Kong immigration procedures.
Eligible passengers may also apply for a refund of the air passenger departure tax.
New Park & Visit Service Launches in July
HKIA will introduce the new Park & Visit service on 16 July.
The service is designed for visitors travelling to Hong Kong by car from the Greater Bay Area.
From 25 July, successful applicants will be able to drive to the airport’s automated parking facility via the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge.
After parking their vehicles, travellers can use a shuttle service to the Hong Kong Port of the bridge and complete immigration procedures before entering Hong Kong.
Initiative Supports Tourism and Travel Growth
Vivian Cheung said the expansion of the Southbound Travel for Guangdong Vehicles scheme creates new opportunities to strengthen cross-border connectivity.
She noted that the airport will continue using the strategic advantages of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge to offer diversified transport services and attract more travellers from the Greater Bay Area.
HKIA Strengthens Regional Connectivity
The expanded services are expected to make international travel more convenient for residents across the Greater Bay Area while also encouraging more visitors to travel to Hong Kong.
Airport officials believe the initiatives will support passenger growth, strengthen HKIA’s role as an international aviation hub and contribute to the development of Hong Kong’s tourism sector.
Automated Parking System Enhances Convenience
Both services utilise HKIA’s automated parking facilities, allowing travellers to complete the parking process efficiently before continuing their journey.
The system forms part of the airport’s broader strategy to improve multimodal transport options and create a more seamless travel experience for passengers travelling between the Greater Bay Area and Hong Kong.
