Fairfield by Marriott expands hotels network with Chongqing opening
Fairfield by Marriott has announced the opening of Fairfield by Marriott Chongqing Nan’an District, marking its 100th hotel in Greater China. The development reflects the brand’s continued expansion across the region, supported by a focus on local design and operational efficiency.
Part of Marriott Bonvoy, which includes more than 30 hotel brands globally, Fairfield by Marriott has grown its presence in Greater China since entering the market in 2017. The brand has focused on adapting its offering to local preferences while maintaining its core service approach.

Located in Nan’an District, the new Chongqing property is designed for both business and leisure travellers. The hotel reflects the brand’s “beauty of simplicity” concept through practical design and consistent service standards.
Betty Tian, Managing Vice President, Customer, Greater China, Marriott International, said the milestone highlights the brand’s development in the region. She noted that Fairfield by Marriott has evolved in Greater China through product updates and localised features to meet changing traveller expectations.
The brand continues to expand across key transport hubs and urban districts, including Beijing Capital International Airport, Shanghai Xujiahui, and Hangzhou Future Sci-Tech City. It has also entered leisure destinations including Nanxun, Hengdian and Xiapu, with further openings planned in cities such as Zhangjiajie.

Since reaching 50 hotels in Greater China in 2024, the brand has doubled its footprint within two years. Fairfield by Marriott remains one of the larger brands within Marriott International’s global portfolio.
The brand’s operational model, including streamlined pre-opening processes and flexible design standards, has supported interest from owners and investors. The first hotel featuring its updated design approach is expected to open later this year.
To mark the 100-hotel milestone, Fairfield properties across Greater China are introducing guest experiences, including welcome amenities and interactive installations that highlight local hospitality themes.
The hotel is located on Jiangnan Avenue, close to commercial centres and the Chongqing International Convention & Exhibition Center. The hotel offers 182 rooms, dining facilities, meeting spaces, a 24-hour fitness centre, and self-service laundry.
