Etihad Airways Adds Direct Flights Between Abu Dhabi and Medina

Etihad Airways Soars with Record 20 Aircraft Deliveries in Growth Surge!

Etihad Airways has introduced direct flights from Abu Dhabi to Medina, expanding its network in Saudi Arabia and offering more travel options for religious, business, and leisure travellers. This new service links Abu Dhabi with Medina, a city of great religious importance for those undertaking Islamic pilgrimages. The route addresses the growing demand from travelers seeking convenient access to the Kingdom’s holy city.

Medina is the newest destination in Etihad Airways’ network in Saudi Arabia. The airline now offers a total of 93 weekly flights to five cities, including four daily flights to Riyadh, Jeddah, and Dammam, as well as three weekly services to Al Qassim. The introduction of flights to Medina is part of Etihad’s larger expansion strategy, which includes the announcement of 31 new destinations over the past year.

Etihad CEO Antonoaldo Neves said: “The launch of Medina strengthens connectivity from Abu Dhabi to Saudi Arabia. Medina is an important destination for religious travel, and we are providing convenient access with smooth connections through Abu Dhabi.”

The airline will operate five weekly flights to Medina using Airbus A321 aircraft, with the frequency increasing to six flights per week later in the year. The route offers business and economy cabins, providing a comfortable travel experience.

Medina attracts millions of visitors annually due to its Islamic heritage, historic mosques, and cultural attractions. Guests traveling on Etihad can enjoy a complimentary Abu Dhabi Stopover, which includes a two-night stay at a hotel in the UAE capital. During this stopover, visitors have access to several attractions, including the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, Yas Island, Saadiyat Island, and the Louvre Abu Dhabi, a cultural site. The route also enables travelers to connect from Medina to Etihad’s wider network across Asia, Australia, and Europe.
