Eight Continents adds Royal Hotel Cookstown to Northern Ireland portfolio

Eight Continents Hotels & Resorts has announced the addition of The Royal Hotel Cookstown to its portfolio, strengthening its presence in Northern Ireland.

The property will remain owned by the Thom family, while Eight Continents Hotels & Resorts will oversee day-to-day operations. The collaboration brings together the group’s operational approach with the hotel’s established presence in the region.

The focus will be on improving operational processes, refining brand positioning, and maintaining consistent service standards. Planned measures include staff training, structured revenue strategies, and a more cohesive design identity across guest touchpoints.

The hotel group operates a portfolio that includes Treetop, Hanric, Stamps, Ocho Homes, and Signature Collection. The group has a presence across India, the United Kingdom, and East Africa, with locations such as Belfast, Guernsey, and Zanzibar. In India, it operates in destinations including Kasauli, Varkala, Udaipur, Sariska, Jodhpur, and Pushkar.
