AirAsia will operate almost 3,600 flights weekly during the 2025 festive season, offering more than 27,000 seats at fixed fares.

Minister of Transport, YB Loke Siew Fook said: “The government remains committed to helping people reunite during festive periods. It is encouraging to see AirAsia leading efforts to make travel more affordable and accessible. This aligns with our ongoing initiatives, including the RM499 ceiling fare subsidy and the FLYsiswa programme to ease student financial burden to travel between Peninsular and East Malaysia. We look forward to collaborating with other industry partners on this initiative for the betterment of our nation.”

Dato’ Captain Fareh Mazputra, CEO of AirAsia Malaysia, said: “As we approach the final month of 2024 and prepare for the upcoming Lunar New Year celebrations, we are delighted to unveil our yearly fixed fares, with more than 27,000 seats available during the Chinese New Year period. We are proud to continue playing our role as an industry leader in supporting the government’s initiatives to ensure smooth and affordable travel for Malaysians, especially during the festive season."

AirAsia is supporting the government's initiative by offering one-way economy-class flights from Peninsular Malaysia to East Malaysia. As part of this promotion, base fares for selected flights will be capped at a maximum ceiling fare, applicable for travel four days before Christmas Day. This initiative demonstrates the airline's commitment to the government's fare subsidy program, promoting inclusivity and affordability during the festive season.
