On Monday afternoon, a Delta Air Lines jet encountered strong winds and drifting snow while attempting to land at Pearson Toronto Airport. The aircraft crashed and overturned on the tarmac, ultimately coming to rest on its back with at least one wing broken off. Fortunately, all 80 passengers on Flight 4819 from Minneapolis were evacuated safely despite the crash landing.
Authorities are still investigating the crash at Toronto Pearson, the airport’s fire chief said during a brief news conference Monday night.

On Monday evening, Delta’s incident response team arrived at Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) to address the situation related to Delta Connection flight 4819, operated by Endeavor Air, following a single-aircraft accident around 2:15 p.m. ET.
The team comprises specially trained Delta Care Team representatives who support customers and their families. Endeavor Air’s leadership members, including CEO Jim Graham, are on their way to guarantee complete cooperation with investigators. So far, several passengers initially taken to local hospitals have since been discharged.

Delta has been working to re-accommodate customers impacted by today’s cancellations at YYZ. No additional operational changes are scheduled for Tuesday; however, customers should continue to monitor their flight status via the Fly Delta app.

Delta Connection flight 4819, operated by Endeavor Air using a CRJ-900 aircraft, was involved in a single-aircraft accident at Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) on Monday. The flight originated from Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP).
Initial reports indicate no fatalities, and 18 injured customers have been transported to area hospitals. Our primary focus is caring for those impacted.

The flight had 80 individuals: 76 passengers and four crew members. Delta has cancelled its flights to and from YYZ for the rest of the evening and issued a travel waiver, which can be found on Delta.com. Delta is reaching out to customers whose flights have been affected. Additionally, customers are encouraged to check their flight status using the Fly Delta app. Endeavor Air, based in Minneapolis, is a fully-owned subsidiary of Delta Air Lines.
