FitsAir Introduces Direct Flights Connecting Ahmedabad and Colombo

A strategic collaboration between City of Dreams Sri Lanka, Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts, Walkers Tours, and FitsAir is set to enhance international travel connectivity from Gujarat with the introduction of direct scheduled flights between Ahmedabad and Colombo.

Operated by FitsAir, Sri Lanka’s first private international airline, the new service will run three times a week starting May 15, 2026. The route is designed to cater to the rising demand for outbound leisure travel from Gujarat, offering a seamless and convenient connection to Sri Lanka.

Cinnamon and FitsAir Partner to Launch Direct Flights from Ahmedabad

The enhanced connectivity provides easier access to a range of premium hospitality experiences, including properties under Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts such as Cinnamon Life at City of Dreams, Cinnamon Grand, Cinnamon Lakeside, and Cinnamon Red.

Gujarat has emerged as a key source market for Sri Lanka, supported by strong cultural ties and increasing demand for international travel experiences. The introduction of direct flights is expected to further strengthen tourism exchange between Ahmedabad and Colombo, positioning Sri Lanka as an attractive short-haul destination for Indian travellers.

Located in Colombo, City of Dreams Sri Lanka is positioned as an integrated destination offering a mix of entertainment, hospitality, and lifestyle experiences. Travel packages combining stays at Cinnamon properties with multi-destination itineraries across Sri Lanka, including visits to Kandy and coastal destinations, are being promoted to travellers.

According to Nayana Mawilmada, the partnership reflects growing demand from the Indian market, particularly Gujarat, and aims to make Sri Lanka’s luxury and cultural experiences more accessible. Kamal Munasinghe highlighted Ahmedabad’s importance as a fast-growing source market, while Nalaka Amaratunga emphasised the role of integrated travel packages in delivering a seamless holiday experience.

Introductory packages are priced from INR 55,555 and include return airfare, a two-night stay with breakfast at Cinnamon Life at City of Dreams, and private airport transfers.

Flights will operate three times weekly, with schedules designed to offer convenient departures and arrivals between Ahmedabad and Colombo, further supporting tourism and business travel between the two regions.
