The aerospace travel company, Blue Origin, successfully completed its NS-25 flight. The space flight took off from the West Texas site of Blue Origin on May 19, 2024 at 10:37 EDT and landed back in Texas with a parachute touchdown around ten minutes after.

The flight is now the seventh one by the organisation to take humans into space and has, so far, carried 37 people into the outer world. The crew of the flight included Mason Angel, Sylvain Chiron, Kenneth L. Hess, Carol Schaller, Captain Ed Dwight, and India’s very own Gopi Thotakura. Watch the recap of the space mission right here!

With the mission, Thotakura, an Indian entrepreneur and pilot from Andhra Pradesh, has become the first Indian space tourist and the second Indian to visit space after Rakesh Sharma. Thotakura has been interested in aviation since a young age, and because of his passion, he pursued a degree at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. He is also the Co-Founder of Preserve Life Corp, and as a medical jet pilot, he has contributed to over 2000 medical air ambulance missions.
