American Airlines to Add Flagship Lounge and Expand Admirals Club at Charlotte Douglas International Airport
American Airlines has announced plans to build a Flagship lounge and expand its Admirals Club lounge at Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT).
The project will increase lounge space for customers travelling through CLT and introduce the Flagship lounge experience to the airport for the first time. Additional details and timelines will be provided at a later time.
“We’re focused on meeting the needs of our customers, and these updates will bring the Flagship lounge to CLT while adding space to our Admirals Club lounges,” said Heather Garboden, American’s Chief Customer Officer.
American currently operates three lounge spaces at CLT: Admirals Club lounges in Concourses B and C/D, and Provisions by Admirals Club, a grab-and-go lounge in Concourse A.
The Flagship lounge will feature amenities including dining options, bar service, shower suites, work areas, and family-friendly spaces.
“Charlotte is a key hub for our network, and these additions will support the travel needs of the many customers we serve here,” said Ralph Lopez, American’s Senior Vice President of CLT Operations.
CLT is American’s second-largest hub, connecting passengers to more than 170 destinations in 27 countries. The airline employs about 15,500 team members in Charlotte. PSA Airlines, a wholly owned regional partner of American, will relocate its headquarters to the city in January 2026.
CLT CEO Haley Gentry welcomed the announcement, noting that it will enhance the airport’s facilities for passengers.
