Malaysia Airlines Welcomes First A330neo

Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG), the parent company of Malaysia Airlines, has recently taken delivery of its first A330neo aircraft. This A330-900 is the first of 20 to be leased from Avolon, and it sets new standards for fuel efficiency and passenger experience.

MAG has configured its A330neo with a premium two-class layout, offering 297 seats. This includes 28 fully flat Business Class suites and a brand-new Economy cabin accommodating 269 passengers. Travellers will benefit from more personal space throughout the cabin, larger overhead storage, improved air quality, and the latest in-flight entertainment systems alongside high-speed Wi-Fi connectivity. The airline plans to deploy this aircraft on routes across Asia and the Pacific and on select routes to the Middle East.

MAG is the 20th airline to join a growing list of global operators utilizing the modern and fuel-efficient A330neo. To date, Airbus has delivered over 140 A330neo aircraft to airlines worldwide, and this model provides unmatched efficiency in its class.

Malaysia Airlines

Malaysia Airlines is the flag carrier of Malaysia, with its headquarters located at Kuala Lumpur International Airport. The airline operates flights to various destinations across Europe, Oceania, and Asia from its main hub in Kuala Lumpur. It was previously known as the Malaysian Airline System.

As part of the Malaysia Aviation Group, Malaysia Airlines owns two subsidiary airlines: Firefly and MASwings. Additionally, it has a dedicated freighter division known as MASkargo.

Malaysia Airlines’ history traces back to Malayan Airways Limited, which was established in Singapore in the 1930s and conducted its first commercial flight in 1947. Following the formation of independent Malaysia in 1963, the airline was renamed Malaysian Airways.
