AirAsia X to Resume Busan–Kuala Lumpur Route from June 17
AirAsia X, the medium- to long-haul arm of AirAsia, will resume direct flights between Busan and Kuala Lumpur from June 17. The airline will be the only carrier operating nonstop services on this route.
The Busan–Kuala Lumpur service will operate four times per week on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. Flights will depart Gimhae International Airport at 11:00 am and arrive at Kuala Lumpur International Airport at 4:30 pm local time. The return service will depart Kuala Lumpur at 2:20 am and arrive in Busan at 9:45 am. Total flight time is approximately six hours and 25 minutes, with Malaysia one hour behind Korea.
Kuala Lumpur is a key gateway to Southeast Asia and is known for attractions such as the Petronas Twin Towers, Bukit Bintang, and Central Market. The route is also expected to support inbound travel from Malaysia to Busan.

Commenting on the route resumption, Benjamin Ismail, CEO of AirAsia X, said Busan will become the airline’s 21st destination and its second route in South Korea. He added that the relaunch aligns with Visit Malaysia Year 2026 and is intended to improve connectivity between the two cities and support AirAsia X’s plans to expand its North Asia network.
To mark the relaunch, AirAsia X has introduced a limited-time promotional offer. One-way fares between Busan and Kuala Lumpur start from KRW 139,000 for bookings made by January 25. Fly-Thru fares from Busan are also available during the promotion, with prices starting from KRW 221,800 to Singapore, KRW 229,700 to Bali, and KRW 283,500 to Perth.
Travel under the promotion is valid from June 17 to November 30. During this period, customers purchasing a Value Pack—which includes 20kg checked baggage, an in-flight meal and seat selection—can receive an additional 30% discount. The offer is available via airasia.com and the AirAsia MOVE app for AirAsia members, subject to terms and conditions.
