WTTC Executive Committee Welcomes Uber Back as Member

The World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) has welcomed Uber to its Executive Committee, marking the company’s return to the organisation after previously serving as a Global Member between 2018 and 2021.

The move reflects Uber’s continued engagement with the global travel and tourism sector and its growing role in supporting mobility solutions for travellers worldwide.

Founded in 2010, Uber operates across more than 70 countries and over 15,000 cities, connecting users with drivers, couriers and local businesses through its technology platform. The company has become an integral part of the travel ecosystem, providing transport options that help visitors move between airports, hotels, attractions and local destinations.

Uber has also expanded its focus on innovation and sustainability through investments in electric-vehicle adoption, multimodal transport solutions, and partnerships designed to improve urban mobility.

Earlier this year, Uber announced a partnership with Expedia Group, enabling Uber users in the United States to access and book more than 700,000 hotels directly through the Uber app. Under the arrangement, Uber One members receive credits on eligible hotel bookings. The partnership is expected to expand to additional markets in the future.
