Cygnett Hotels & Resorts Marks 12 Years, Crosses 4,000 Keys

Cygnett Growth Strategy Expands Presence Across Emerging Indian Markets

Cygnett Hotels & Resorts has completed 12 years of operations, marking a significant milestone in its journey from a regional hospitality company to a national hotel management platform. The company now has more than 4,000 operational and under-development keys across over 41 destinations in India.

Founded in 2014, Cygnett began by focusing on tapping hospitality opportunities beyond metropolitan cities. Over the years, this vision has evolved into a portfolio of 45 operational hotels and resorts across business destinations, leisure markets, pilgrimage centres and emerging tourism hubs.

At a time when much of the hospitality industry was concentrated in established gateway cities, Cygnett focused on building its presence in Tier II and Tier III markets, as well as the North East. The company established operations in destinations such as Ayodhya and several cities across the North East, recognising the long-term potential of these markets as connectivity and infrastructure improved.

Today, the company operates through a diverse portfolio of brands, including Cygnett Hotels, Cygnett Park, Cygnett Inn, Cozzet, Cygnett Resort/Retreat and Anamore, its upper-upscale hospitality brand catering to experiential and premium travellers.

As part of its next phase of growth, Cygnett is expanding its footprint through a pipeline of hotels and resorts expected to open over the next 24 to 30 months. Upcoming projects are planned across destinations including Pushkar, Jaipur, Kasauli-Kiarighat, Srinagar, Goa, Sonapur, Guwahati, Itanagar, Jim Corbett, Gurugram, Navi Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chail, Ujjain, Panvel, Murud, Tirupati, Vrindavan, Tawang, Motihari, Dhanbad and Kharagpur.

A key element of the company’s growth strategy is its alliance with Wyndham Hotels & Resorts. Through this partnership, Cygnett gains access to global distribution channels, international sales networks and Wyndham Rewards, which has more than 122 million enrolled members worldwide.

The partnership is also shaping the company’s brand portfolio. Future developments are planned under Wyndham-affiliated brands, including Cygnett Hotels, Cygnett Park, Cygnett Inn and Cozzet under Trademark Collection by Wyndham, alongside Anamore and Anamore Select under Registry Collection Hotels by Wyndham and La Quinta by Wyndham.

Several Cygnett properties have already joined the Trademark Collection by Wyndham portfolio, including hotels in Jaipur, Itanagar, Tezpur, Dibrugarh, Bongaigaon, Bhubaneswar and Ayodhya. This integration enables the hotels to benefit from Wyndham’s reservation network while maintaining their local identity.

Commenting on the milestone, Sarbendra Sarkar, Founder and Managing Director of Cygnett Hotels & Resorts, said, “When we started Cygnett twelve years ago, we believed India’s hospitality growth would increasingly be driven by emerging cities and developing destinations. Our strategy was built around participating in that transformation, particularly in regional markets and the North East.”

He added, “As we enter the next phase of growth, our focus is on building a globally connected hospitality platform rooted in regional India. Our partnership with Wyndham, expanding brand portfolio and development pipeline, positions us to support future travel demand and create value for stakeholders.”

Looking ahead, Cygnett has set a target of exceeding 100 hotels and 10,000 keys by 2030 as it continues to expand across India and South Asia.
