Pankaj Kadam Promoted to Vice President, Benefits, Retirement and People Operations at American Airlines

American Airlines has promoted Pankaj Kadam to Vice President, Benefits, Retirement and People Operations.

In this role, Kadam oversees employee benefits and retirement programs, travel privileges and a range of people operations functions, including workers’ compensation, absence management and the team member service center. He is responsible for a portfolio supporting more than 100,000 employees globally.

Kadam has been associated with American Airlines for over six years and has held multiple leadership roles within the organisation. Most recently, he served as Head of Benefits, Retirement, Shared Services and Employment Delivery, where he led a team supporting benefits, retirement plans and employee services. Prior to that, he held positions including Head of Benefits, Retirement and Shared Services, Managing Director – Benefits, and Director – Retirement.
Before joining American Airlines, Kadam was Managing Director, Compensation and Benefits at Alaska Airlines, where he oversaw compensation, benefits and retirement programmes. His earlier experience includes roles at Driscoll’s as Senior Director, Global Total Rewards, and at American Airlines as Director, Executive Compensation.
Kadam began his aviation career with US Airways in 2009, where he held roles in compensation and financial planning. He was also involved in compensation and relocation initiatives during the American Airlines–US Airways merger.
He started his career in the technology sector, working with Syntel and US Technology Global in project leadership and consulting roles.
