SFO Summer Music Series Welcomes International Artists to Airport Terminals
The SFO Summer Music Series has officially launched at San Francisco International Airport, bringing live performances from internationally recognised artists directly to travellers passing through the airport.
The programme forms part of SFO Celebrates: Summer Music in San Francisco and features performers scheduled to appear at the historic Stern Grove Festival, the oldest free music festival in the United States.
Through the airport’s Terminal Sessions initiative, passengers can enjoy free live concerts while travelling through San Francisco.
Two International Bands Headline June Performances
The opening schedule for the SFO Summer Music Series includes performances from two internationally known bands.
On 13 June, Indian alternative rock group Peter Cat Recording Co. will perform live at the airport.
On 20 June, Colombian electro-tropical group Bomba Estéreo will take the stage as part of the ongoing programme.
The performances aim to bring the atmosphere of San Francisco’s music scene directly into the airport environment.
Terminal Sessions Connects Travellers with Local Culture
According to airport officials, the Terminal Sessions programme was created to connect travellers with cultural events taking place across San Francisco.
Mike Nakornkhet said the initiative allows visitors to experience the energy of local festivals and entertainment while travelling through the airport.
The programme is part of broader efforts to enhance the passenger experience through arts and cultural activities.
Concerts Take Place in Harvey Milk Terminal 1
All Terminal Sessions performances will be held post-security near Gate B4 in Harvey Milk Terminal 1.
Admission is free for travellers, although attendance is limited by available space.
Guests must either be ticketed passengers or obtain access through the airport’s Gate Explorer guest pass programme.
Live Music Programme Continues Throughout Summer
The SFO Summer Music Series will continue beyond the June performances.
Airport officials confirmed that additional live music events will begin on 7 July and continue through 28 August.
Performances will be held every Wednesday and Thursday between 10:30 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.
An announcement regarding another international artist is also expected in the coming weeks.
Airport Expands Passenger Experience Through Entertainment
The summer concert programme reflects San Francisco International Airport’s continued focus on enhancing the travel experience through cultural programming.
By bringing live performances into the terminal environment, the airport offers travellers an opportunity to engage with local arts and entertainment while waiting for flights.
