The Access Group Appoints Shashikant Shimpi as Managing Director, India – Hospitality Division

The Access Group has announced the appointment of Shashikant Shimpi (Shashi) as Managing Director, India, for its Hospitality Division, marking a strategic step as the company expands its operations in the country.

Shashi joined the organisation in May 2026 and will lead The Access Group’s India business, focusing on hospitality technology and talent development. India continues to be a key market for STAAH, an Access company, as well as for advancing capabilities in areas such as artificial intelligence.

With over 25 years of experience, Shashi brings expertise in digital transformation, business operations, and client management. He has successfully established and scaled three Global Capability Centres across multiple geographies.

Prior to this role, he served as Global COO at RunDTC and has held leadership positions at Dentsu, Isobar, and various Tata Group companies. His experience includes P&L management, strategic planning, and organisational scaling.

India remains one of the fastest-growing travel and tourism markets, with hotels increasingly adopting integrated technology platforms for distribution, revenue management, and guest services. Building on STAAH’s established presence, The Access Group plans to further strengthen its footprint in the region.

The company also highlighted India as a critical hub for technology talent and AI-led capability development within its hospitality division. In his new role, Shashi will oversee talent development initiatives while supporting product and technology operations in India.
