Jin of BTS is the Honorary Tourism Ambassador for South Korea’s Seoul

The official government tourism guide for Seoul in South Korea, Visit Seoul, has announced the naming of singer Jin as the capital’s Honorary Tourism Ambassador. The Seoul Tourism Organisation, which runs the tourism guide, announced the news by teasing a new campaign with the BTS member. Photographs of Jin were shared on social media accounts stating that “The ‘Feel Soul Good’ campaign featuring Jin is about to start.” A poster has been revealed and Jin emerged as Seoul’s promotional ambassador alongside Gyeongbokgung Palace, Namsan Tower, and Lotte Tower. The official tagline of the campaign is “Feel your own soul in Seoul”.

The Seoul Tourism Organisation has also shared the timeline of the content lineup with Jin, announcing that the special content featuring the singer-songwriter will be shared by the organisation sharting August 26. Special videos will also be shared till September 16.

The singer-songwriter has been the face of Seoul and South Korean tourism in the past as well. Not to mention the Hallyu wave, greatly influenced by BTS, has seen almost a million fans visiting South Korea every year because of the musical group. In 2019, BTS attracted around 800,000 foreign tourists to the country; their three-day concert at Seoul Olympic Stadium alone called in 187,000 foreign visitors as well as generated around 922.9 billion KRW worth of economic impact for South Korea.
