Sterling Holiday Resorts Opens Sterling Mount Olive Gangtok, Expanding Presence in North East India
Sterling Holiday Resorts has announced the opening of Sterling Mount Olive Gangtok, a city hotel located in central Gangtok. The property is designed for travellers seeking convenient access to the city’s commercial, administrative and cultural areas.
The launch marks Sterling’s second property in Gangtok, complementing Sterling Gangtok Orange Village, which is located outside the city in a quieter setting. Together, the two properties offer guests a choice between an urban stay and a leisure-focused retreat.
Situated in Gangtok’s Development Area, the city’s business and administrative hub, Sterling Mount Olive Gangtok is set on elevated terrain and offers views of the city skyline from select rooms and balconies. Its location places guests within walking distance of government offices, business centres and MG Marg, making it suitable for business travellers, short-stay professionals and leisure visitors who prefer to stay close to the city centre.
The property has been developed to cater to evolving travel patterns in the Eastern Himalayas, where visitors increasingly combine business travel, short city stays and onward leisure trips to destinations such as Darjeeling and Kalimpong.

Commenting on the launch, Vikram Lalvani, Managing Director & CEO of Sterling Holiday Resorts, said the new hotel strengthens the brand’s presence in the North East by offering a centrally located option that allows guests to engage closely with the city while experiencing Sterling’s service standards.
Sterling Mount Olive Gangtok features contemporary rooms with private balconies, featuring warm interiors, soft lighting, and views of the hills or the city. The accommodation is suited for business trips, extended stays and small families.
Dining at the hotel is anchored by Latitude 27, an all-day restaurant offering global comfort cuisine alongside regional dishes such as Masyang ko Dal, Baans ko Tusa and Thentuk, with a focus on seasonal ingredients.

The hotel offers access to nearby attractions, including Tashi View Point, Do Drul Chorten, and Banjhakri Falls, with day trips to Tsomgo Lake and Baba Mandir.
Sterling Mount Olive Gangtok is accessible via Bagdogra Airport and New Jalpaiguri Railway Station, supporting connectivity for domestic and international travellers.
With this addition, Sterling continues to grow its portfolio across Sikkim and the wider North East, offering a mix of resort and city-based properties to meet diverse travel needs.
