Riyadh Air Orders 60 Airbus A321neo Jets

Riyadh Air has officially ordered 60 A321neo Family aircraft. This significant agreement was signed at the Future Investment Initiative (FII) in Riyadh, marking an important milestone for the airline. The signing ceremony included attendees such as His Excellency Yasir Al-Rumayyan, Governor of the Public Investment Fund (PIF) and Chairman of Riyadh Air; Tony Douglas, CEO of Riyadh Air; Christian Scherer, Chief Executive Officer of Commercial Aircraft at Airbus; and Benoit de Saint-Exupery, Executive Vice President of Sales for the Commercial Aircraft division.

“This investment will enable us to support economic growth in the aviation industry and ensure Riyadh Air operates one of the most fuel-efficient fleets. It’ll be instrumental in helping Saudi Arabia achieve its decarbonisation goals,” said Riyadh Air CEO Tony Douglas.

The A321neo is the largest member of Airbus’ best-selling A320neo Family, offering exceptional range and performance. With its new generation engines and Sharklets, the A321neo achieves a 50% reduction in noise and more than 20% savings in fuel consumption and CO₂ emissions compared to previous generations of single-aisle aircraft. Additionally, it maximizes passenger comfort with the widest single-aisle cabin in the sky. So far, more than 6,700 A321neo aircraft have been ordered by over 90 customers worldwide.
