Moustache Group of Hotels Reports 50% Rise in Bookings Across Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh
Moustache Group of Hotels has reported a 50% increase in hotel stays across North India compared to the same period last year, supported by a stronger winter season and snowfall across Himalayan destinations. The increase has contributed to higher revenue across the group’s hostels and hotels in Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh.
Over the past few weeks, temperatures across North India have remained 2–3 degrees below seasonal averages, encouraging working professionals and young travellers to head to hill destinations for winter scenery and quieter work-from-anywhere settings. Weather conditions are expected to continue, with forecasts indicating further cold spells and snowfall in parts of northern India.
According to forecasts, Uttarakhand may see fresh snowfall in higher areas, with districts such as Chamoli, Pithoragarh, Nainital, Bageshwar, Rudraprayag, and parts of Kashmir expected to experience severe cold conditions. Himachal Pradesh is also expected to receive snowfall in regions including Tabo, Kalpa, Manali, and Lahaul-Spiti. Temperatures in Shimla may drop to around -1°C, while Manali is expected to remain significantly colder, with daytime temperatures projected to stay well below zero.

Commenting on the trend, Deepak Agarwal, Founder-Director, Moustache Group of Hotels, said “We are seeing higher occupancy rates across our 14 hostels and hotels in Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh. This includes properties in Rishikesh, Mussoorie, Mukteshwar, Naukuchiatal and Nainital in Uttarakhand, as well as Manali, McLeod Ganj, Lahaul Village, Sissu, Jibhi–Tirthan Valley, Bir, and Dalhousie in Himachal Pradesh. Our properties have recorded 50% higher bookings compared to last year, leading to increased revenue, particularly in our Luxuria segment.”
He added that expectations of continued snowfall through the season could support sustained demand across hill destinations.
The trend reflects a wider shift across North India, where prolonged winter conditions are driving increased travel to mountain regions. Hospitality brands with a presence in hill markets are seeing stronger demand as travellers look for seasonal getaways, flexible stays, and remote-work-friendly environments.
