Vinay Malhotra, Head of Global Sales, IndiGo said:  “We are pleased to announce the culturally rich and vibrant city of Bikaner as the 90th domestic destination in our 6E network and the 5th in Rajasthan. IndiGo will now operate over 460 weekly flights from the state of Rajasthan, connecting 20 destinations directly across the country. This new route aims to promote tourism as well as trade by offering increased access to Bikaner’s rich cultural heritage and iconic historical sites. As India’s leading carrier, we remain committed towards delivering on our promise of providing affordable, on-time, courteous, and hassle-free travel experiences across an unparalleled network.”

As heritage tourism gains momentum, Rajasthan is emerging as a leading tourist hotspot in India. The state has ingeniously transformed its heritage buildings into self-sustaining tourist attractions. The introduction of these flights coincides with Rajasthan’s investment in new projects to cater to the increasing number of tourists. Bikaner, known for its heritage sites, palaces, and forts, is often referred to as the ‘Red City’ due to its red sandstone havelis. The new Delhi-Bikaner connection offers convenient access to this growing tourist destination while boosting the economies of both cities.

Delhi, India’s bustling capital, is a vibrant metropolis that seamlessly blends ancient history with modernity. From iconic landmarks like the Red Fort and India Gate to diverse culinary experiences, Delhi offers a captivating journey through time and culture.

Bikaner, a city in Rajasthan, is renowned for its rich heritage and cultural charm. Known for its stunning architecture, including the Junagarh Fort and Lalgarh Palace, it’s also famous for its camel festival and delicious Bikaneri sweets. Its unique blend of tradition and history makes Bikaner an intriguing destination for travellers.

Flights can be booked on the airline’s official website, http://www.goIndiGo.in, and the mobile app. The introduction of these flights will further bolster the airline’s domestic connectivity.
