InterContinental Mumbai Goregaon Expands IHG Presence in Mumbai
IHG Hotels & Resorts has signed a management agreement with Zon Hotels (Mumbai) Private Limited to develop InterContinental Mumbai Goregaon, a new hotel scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2030.
The signing adds another InterContinental property to IHG’s portfolio in India and strengthens the company’s presence in Mumbai, a key business and tourism destination.
Located in Goregaon, a growing commercial and residential hub in Mumbai’s western suburbs, the hotel will feature 350 guest rooms, including 70 suites. Positioned between Andheri and Malad, the property will offer connectivity to major business districts, entertainment centres and transport links, catering to both business and leisure travellers.
Sudeep Jain, Managing Director, South West Asia, IHG Hotels & Resorts, said Mumbai continues to see demand from both corporate and leisure travellers, while Goregaon has emerged as an important commercial corridor. He added that the new hotel will support IHG’s expansion plans in India and offer guests access to the InterContinental brand experience in a well-connected location.
The property will include five food and beverage venues, comprising an all-day dining restaurant, speciality restaurants, a bar and a lobby lounge. It will also feature meeting and event spaces, including a large ballroom designed to host conferences, weddings and social gatherings.
Additional facilities will include a fitness centre, spa, swimming pool, retail spaces and parking facilities.
Sandip Gupta, Director, Zon Hotels (Mumbai) Private Limited, said the project builds on the company’s existing relationship with IHG and reflects a shared commitment to developing hospitality projects in key locations. He noted that the hotel is expected to cater to a broad mix of travellers visiting Mumbai.
Ishwar Shukla, Director, DGS Group, said the hotel has been planned as a significant hospitality development for North Mumbai, with a focus on contemporary design, guest comfort and service standards aligned with international hospitality practices.
InterContinental Hotels & Resorts currently operates more than 237 hotels worldwide, with over 100 additional properties under development. The brand continues to expand across urban and resort destinations, connecting guests with local experiences through its global network.
IHG currently operates 52 hotels across seven brands in India, including Six Senses, InterContinental Hotels & Resorts, Crowne Plaza, voco Hotels, Holiday Inn Resort and Holiday Inn Express. The company also has a pipeline of 98 hotels expected to open across the country over the next three to five years.
