IHG Hotels & Resorts and Megan Stalter Encourage Travellers to Take the Vacation – No Excuses
IHG Hotels & Resorts has launched limited-edition packages and social content under the theme “Take the Vacation – No Excuses,” in collaboration with actress and comedian Megan Stalter. The initiative aims to address the hesitation many people feel about taking time off and encourages travellers to plan their next getaway with confidence.
A recent IHG survey found that 57% of Americans do not use all their vacation days by the end of the year. Many respondents reported feeling more anxious about requesting time off than about common everyday situations, such as sending a meal back or parking in a public lot. To help change that mindset, IHG is offering bookable experiences designed to make it easier for travelers to take time away from work and unwind.
Meet Your Vacation Coach: Megan Stalter
Megan Stalter brings humor and motivation to the campaign as the self-proclaimed “Vacation Coach.” Through engaging videos, she highlights common excuses for skipping vacations and offers a lighthearted reminder to make time for rest and exploration. Her message is simple: “It’s not hard, it’s not calculus, it’s a vacation—book it already!”
Survey Insights
The national survey of 2,000 adults revealed that one in four Americans feels guilty using their paid time off, often due to travel costs or workplace pressure. Many also cited leaving pets behind (27%) as a greater source of guilt than leaving children (19%). Interestingly, 43% of respondents said they would give up alcohol for an extra two weeks of vacation, while a third would give up social media.
