Government Shutdown Ends; Delta Updates on Operational Recovery
The U.S. House has passed a bill that brings an end to the longest federal government shutdown in the country’s history. Following this decision, Delta released a statement thanking Congress for its efforts to reopen the government and expressing gratitude to federal employees—such as air traffic controllers, TSA officers, and CBP agents—who worked without pay during the shutdown.
Delta has acknowledged its employees for their dedication to assisting customers and government workers during this time. The airline plans to resume full operations within the next few days and will continue collaborating closely with the FAA to ensure safe and reliable service.

The airline has provided flexibility for travellers impacted by flight disruptions, allowing changes, cancellations, or refunds, including for Delta Main Basic fares, without penalties during the affected period. Customers are encouraged to check flight status and travel options via the Fly Delta app or delta.com.
