Hyatt Place Expands in Mexico with Opening of First Hotel in Quintana Roo

Hyatt Hotels Corporation and Parks Hospitality Holdings have announced the opening of Hyatt Place Cancun Airport, the first Hyatt Place-branded hotel in Quintana Roo. This milestone contributes to the expanding Hyatt portfolio in Mexico, which includes the upcoming Hyatt Place Merida/Via Montejo, set to open later this month, and Hyatt Place Piedras Negras, expected to open in early 2026.

Convenient Location Near Cancun International Airport

Situated adjacent to Cancun International Airport, the hotel offers on-site parking and a 24-hour complimentary airport shuttle, providing convenient connectivity to nearby business districts and the Cancun Airport Tren Maya station.

Guests can easily access nearby attractions, including Go Grand Outlet Riviera Maya, Xoximilco Cancun, El Tinto Golf Course (Cancun Country Club), Delfines Beach, and downtown Cancun, all located approximately 15 minutes away.

Design, Comfort, and Functionality

Hyatt Place Cancun Airport features 156 guestrooms and suites that include Free Wi-Fi, a workspace, and the brand’s signature Corner for relaxation. The interiors reflect Cancun’s tropical surroundings, incorporating locally sourced Yucatán stone in soothing tones of green and brown.

The property also features:

  • A 24-hour fitness center with free weights and cardio equipment

  • A nearly 50-foot outdoor swimming pool and pool deck

  • Flexible meeting and event space with natural lighting and an outdoor deck

Dining Options

Guests can enjoy complimentary breakfast at the Breakfast Bar, while The Market offers 24/7 grab-and-go items. The Placery, located in the lobby bar, serves a range of meals including burgers, salads, sandwiches, and the traditional Yucatán soup “Sopa de Lima”, along with premium beverages.

Leadership Statements

“We’re honored to introduce the Hyatt Place brand to a key destination in Mexico, offering an ideal stay for both business and leisure travelers seeking a seamless and stress-free experience just minutes from the airport,” said Andrea Medina, General Manager, Hyatt Place Cancun Airport.

“With the arrival of Hyatt Place Cancun Airport, PHH begins a new chapter in expanding hospitality in Mexico,” said Charles El Mann Fasja, CEO, Parks Hospitality Holdings.

“This project reflects our commitment to creating spaces where travelers can connect, relax, and experience local culture while meeting global standards of comfort.”

Future Development Plans

The opening marks the first project under Hyatt’s multi-property collaboration with Parks Hospitality Holdings, with three additional developments underway:

  • Park Hyatt Cancun (2026)

  • Grand Hyatt Los Cabos (2027)

  • Grand Hyatt Mexico City Santa Fe (2028)

Following its official opening, Hyatt Place Cancun Airport will host a ribbon-cutting event on November 26, 2025, with local community officials, partners, and guests in attendance.

World of Hyatt Member Offer

To celebrate the opening, World of Hyatt members can earn 500 Bonus Points for qualifying stays at Hyatt Place Cancun Airport between November 12, 2025, and February 28, 2026. No registration is required, and members can combine the offer with other eligible promotions.
