Changes Aim to Support Members with More Flexible Status Requirements

Etihad Airways Reports Record Passenger Numbers in 2025

Etihad Guest has reduced its tier qualification thresholds by 25% across all membership levels, making it easier for members to retain their status or progress to the next tier.

The revised thresholds came into effect on 18 March and apply automatically to all Etihad Guest members worldwide. No registration or additional steps are required. Members can now retain their current tier within their existing 12-month qualification period using fewer Tier Miles. The reduced criteria for tier upgrades will remain in place until 31 March 2027.

The update follows recent disruptions that have affected travel plans for many members. By lowering the Tier Miles requirement, the programme offers greater flexibility for those working to maintain or upgrade their status.

Etihad Guest Tier Miles can be earned on flights operated by Etihad Airways and select partner airlines across their networks. Members can redeem Etihad Guest Miles on flights, hotel stays, holiday packages, or through the Etihad Guest Reward Shop for a range of products.

The adjustment reflects the programme’s ongoing efforts to support members as travel patterns continue to evolve.
