Moët & Chandon Champagne and Canapés: A Match Made in Emirates Heaven

The Moët & Chandon Champagne Lounge is a unique experience in the Center of Emirates’ busiest lounge in Dubai, the Concourse B Business Class Lounge in Terminal 3 of Dubai International Airport. A new champagne and canapés pairing menu created over several months by Emirates master chefs and champagne specialists from the house of Moët & Chandon continues the 32-year-old cooperation between Moët Hennessy and Emirates.

G

Designed and built just for Emirates, the Moët & Chandon Champagne Lounge boasts a golden wave pattern with 2,400 gold leaves that are hand-applied one at a time. Within the lounge, you can find four of the best Moët & Chandon champagnes. The most recent collection, introduced last month, includes Moët & Chandon Impérial, Rosé Impérial, Nectar Impérial, and Grand Vintage 2013.

Emirates customers are welcome to unwind in the lounge before boarding a flight, turning their wait into an educational opportunity to see how the brand’s champagne and food match. The pairings created using three concepts will be available for customers to sample and investigate.

Minimalist Ingredients with Maximum Impact:

R

Emirates chefs prioritised using premium, in-season ingredients to create a symphony of flavours without overpowering the palette. Like the iconic foie gras dish, which consists of just three ingredients—brioche, foie gras, and fig—this method lets the inherent flavours of the champagne shine through and creates a more well-balanced dining experience. This enables each component to do its thing, bringing out the foie gras richness with the fig’s sweetness and the buttery brioche base.

Harmony of Flavour:

D

Emirates and Moët & Chandon have carefully considered the flavours of the champagne and the canapés, making sure they blend harmoniously. For example, they have added citrus or berries that accentuate the fruit notes in the champagne or balanced creamy textures with a hint of acidity.

Visual Appeal:

The matching experts from Moët & Chandon and Emirates take pride in creating aesthetically attractive canapés that are carefully plated and placed to enhance the immersive experience. They think food should be a feast for the eyes and the taste buds.

D

The Moët Impérial Brut is the first champagne guests are asked to try. This champagne, aged 24 months, has an aroma of green apple and citrus, white flowers, and mineral freshness. It has a delicate taste and fine bubbles that complement seafood and a firm acidity balanced by fat. It also has the blonde undertones of brioche, grains, and fresh almonds. Four distinct dishes—grilled Obsiblue shrimp, watermelon and feta salad, tuna tartare with fresh orange segments, scallop tataki, and salmon tiradito over calamansi leche de tigre—have been paired with Emirates’ Moët Impérial Brut and are served throughout the month.

E

The second Champagne on the list is Moët Rosé Impérial, aged for 21 months and has a powerful fragrance of red fruits, rose petals, and flowers with a touch of pepper. Fresh green herbs and vibrant summer veggies go well with this cuvée. Throughout the month, Emirates suggests sampling Moët Impérial Rosé with four paired dishes: Beetroot tartare with sesame seeds and dill, broccoli cheese with basil-infused green melon and pine seeds, fennel-infused spinach and asparagus dip with grilled asparagus and yuzu pearls, and Beetroot moutabel with akawi cheese and pine seeds.

E

The Moët Grand Vintage 2013 is the third Champagne that is suggested. Benefiting from seven years in the cellar, Grand Vintage 2013 is a distinctive cuvée with a taste of juicy pear, citrus, and toasted nuts after delicate autumnal aromas. Emirates master chefs have paired Moët Grand Vintage 2013 with four specially prepared dishes to complement the Champagne’s delicacy. These dishes will be served throughout the month and include duck rillette with chive mayonnaise, foie gras on toasted brioche with quince and Maldon salt, and foie gras on toasted brioche with passionfruit, mango, and Maldon salt.

E

The Moët Nectar Impérial, aged for 18 months and flavoured with pineapple, mango, plum, and apricot with a hint of vanilla, is the last Champagne on the matching menu. Emirates presents four dessert canapés with Nectar Impérial throughout the month, best enjoyed with a sweet and fruity dessert: blueberry cheesecake, mango trifle, lemon cream pannacotta, and tropical crème.

All visitors to Terminal 3’s Concourse B Business Class Lounge at Dubai International Airport are entitled to free access to the Moët & Chandon Champagne Lounge and the new matching menu.
