Emirates Marks Oktoberfest with Bavarian Cuisine and German EntertainmentText:Emirates will celebrate Oktoberfest from 20 September to 5 October on flights to and from Munich, Hamburg, Düsseldorf and Frankfurt, as well as in its German airport lounges. Passengers will experience traditional Bavarian dishes and German-themed entertainment during the festival period.Onboard menus will include regional appetisers, main courses and desserts across all cabins. In First Class, options include poached Alaskan King crab, roasted pumpkin soup, chicken filled with mushrooms and bread dumplings, braised veal shank, Kaiserschmarren with plum compote and apple strudel with crème anglaise. A new Oktoberfest-style movie snack featuring smoked turkey, beef salami, Obatzda, Emmental, cream cheese, egg, radish, cornichons and brezel will also be offered.Business Class will feature dishes such as duck liver terrine, braised beef short ribs, veal shank with red cabbage and desserts including baked cheesecake and apple strudel. In Economy Class, appetisers will include German potato salad, followed by chicken sausage roll with onion jus or baked chicken with paprika cream, and desserts such as black forest cake with cherry compote. Customers departing Dubai will receive gingerbread hearts with Oktoberfest decoration.The A380 Onboard Lounge will serve Oktoberfest sandwiches including cream cheese with chives, roasted beef with gherkins, Emmental with laugen bread, and pretzels. Pastries such as gingerbread cookies, black forest cake, plum cake and German-style cheesecake will also be available.In Emirates lounges at Munich, Frankfurt, Hamburg and Düsseldorf, guests can enjoy dishes including Käsepätzle with roasted onions, Obatzda with pretzels, Wurstsalat sausage salad, chicken sausages with sauerkraut, and chicken thighs with Bavarian potato salad, paired with Oktoberfest beer.Onboard entertainment will feature 22 German films, over 350 Hollywood films dubbed in German, and 31 playlists and albums of German music.Emirates will feature these Oktoberfest offerings on its triple-daily flights from Dubai to Frankfurt and double-daily flights to Munich, Düsseldorf and Hamburg.
