Emirates Expands Team in Middle East and Africa

Emirates Makes Strategic Appointments

Emirates has recently appointed new members to its commercial team in key markets within the Middle East and Africa. This move is intended to bolster the airline‘s prominent position and provide support for its long-term strategic efforts. The rotation will allow experienced outstation managers, including six UAE Nationals, to strengthen Emirates’ commercial capabilities in their respective markets by leveraging their expertise during the airline’s crucial period of growth and expansion.

Adnan Kazim, Emirates’ Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer, commented: “Our long-serving commercial managers have played integral roles in Emirates’ global operations over the years, and today’s appointments demonstrate our confidence in their continued contributions to strengthen our business across the GCC and Africa.

I wish the commercial managers all the success in their new roles and have full confidence in their ability to further thrive as Emirates’ ambassadors in our outstations.”

From October, the following commercial managers will assume these roles:

  • Abdulla Adnan: Formerly Manager of Tanzania, will become Manager of Morocco

  • Cathrine Wesley: Formerly Country Manager of Ghana and Ivory Coast, will become Manager of Algeria

Fahad Al Hassawi
  • Fahad Al Hassawi: Formerly Manager of Oman, will become District Manager of Dharan and KSA Eastern Province

Khalfan Al Salami
  • Khalfan Al Salami: Formerly Manager of Morocco, will become Manager of Kuwait and Iraq

Omar Alhemeiri
  • Omar Alhemeiri: Formerly Manager of Algeria, will become Manager of Tanzania

Saood Al Aqili
  • Saood Al Aqili: Formerly District Manager Dharan and KSA Eastern Province, will become Country Manager Ghana

Khalid Al Zarooni

Emirates has also announced the promotion of Khalid Al Zarooni, currently Manager of Kuwait and Iraq, to Emirates’ Vice President, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

National Commercial Outstation Programme

Emirates strategically positions skilled and ambitious UAE talent in important leadership roles across its network through the National Commercial Outstation Programme. This initiative provides them with exceptional industry knowledge and top-notch skills, enabling them to contribute to the airline’s growth goals. The programme is designed to cultivate a strong group of future Emirati leaders who are fully equipped to support the global businesses of the Emirates Group and the UAE aviation sector.
