EGYPTAIR Strengthens China Connectivity Through ITB China 2026 Partnership

ITB China Partnership Supports EGYPTAIR Expansion Between Egypt and China

EGYPTAIR has been named the Official Airline Partner of ITB China 2026, reinforcing its focus on expanding connectivity and tourism cooperation between Egypt and China.

The travel trade event will take place in Shanghai from 26 to 28 May, where EGYPTAIR will showcase its growing route network, Cairo hub connectivity and service developments aimed at the Chinese market.

This marks the airline’s fourth participation at ITB China, reflecting its continued engagement with China’s travel industry. Over the years, EGYPTAIR has progressed from participating as a co-exhibitor to becoming a main exhibitor and now the event’s Official Airline Partner.

Currently, EGYPTAIR operates 17 weekly flights between Cairo and four Chinese cities: Guangzhou, Beijing, Shanghai, and Hangzhou. Through its Cairo hub, the airline also provides onward connectivity to destinations across Africa, Europe and the Middle East.

The airline said it plans to further expand its China operations by increasing flight frequencies and introducing additional destinations to support growing travel demand between the two countries.

Captain Mohamed Elyan said the partnership reflects the airline’s commitment to strengthening air links between Egypt and China and highlights the strategic importance of the Chinese market within the airline’s long-term growth plans.

Lydia Li said the partnership supports international tourism cooperation and creates opportunities for travel industry exchange between China, Egypt and global markets.

Alongside its China network, EGYPTAIR has also expanded operations in Europe and North America with routes including Venice, Los Angeles and Chicago. The airline is also investing in fleet modernisation, including the Boeing 737 MAX 8 and Airbus A350.

At ITB China 2026, the airline plans to engage with travel partners and buyers on route development, hub connectivity and travel services tailored for Chinese travellers.
