The Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism and Messe Berlin China have announced an expansion of their strategic cooperation to strengthen connections between global MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions) resources and the Chinese market.

As part of this collaboration, Beijing has been designated as the Official Host City of the inaugural China International MICE Exchange, which will take place from 3 to 5 November 2026.
The initiative aims to position Beijing as a key destination for international business events while enhancing integration between China’s MICE sector and the global industry.
Beijing to showcase MICE capabilities
As the host city, Beijing will feature a dedicated “Beijing MICE Pavilion” at the exhibition. The pavilion will bring together local stakeholders and enterprises to present the city’s offerings, combining modern infrastructure with cultural heritage. The platform is expected to facilitate collaboration with international meeting planners, corporate clients and service providers.

The partnership builds on a Memorandum of Understanding signed in 2025 between the two organisations, under which multiple international business event initiatives are being developed. These include the MICE Meeting Point and CIMX, alongside joint efforts in global promotion, buyer engagement and industry resource integration.
Guo Huaigang, Director of the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism, commented, “The launch of CIMX in Beijing marks not only a landmark industry event rich with business opportunities, but also a moment of profound cultural resonance. As a destination, Beijing offers more than just a dynamic and efficient business environment—it is also a city of openness and inclusivity, where cultural experiences thrive. We sincerely invite more international conferences and industry partners to come to Beijing, where they can tap into our abundant professional resources and vast market potential. Together, let us drive the global MICE industry toward higher-quality development.”

David Axiotis, Managing Director of Messe Berlin China, said, “Beijing’s designation as the Official Host City of CIMX marks an important milestone in our long-term strategic cooperation and reflects the city’s growing role in the global business events landscape. CIMX aims to create a truly international platform connecting China with the global MICE community. We look forward to welcoming industry leaders from around the world to Beijing in November 2026 to explore new opportunities for collaboration and growth.”
Global platform for business events industry
Organised by Messe Berlin China, CIMX is positioned as a dedicated trade show for the global business events and incentives sector. The inaugural edition is expected to bring together international destinations, suppliers, corporate decision-makers, associations and specialised agencies from China and international markets.
The event is projected to host more than 200 exhibitors, over 350 hosted buyers and upwards of 5,000 professional visitors. A structured matchmaking programme, along with pre-scheduled meetings and networking sessions, will support business development and partnerships.
Participants will represent the full MICE value chain, including destination marketing organisations, venues, hotels and resorts, airlines, cruise companies, destination management companies, event organisers, and technology providers.
Conference and knowledge exchange
Alongside the exhibition, the CIMX Conference will serve as a knowledge-sharing platform for MICE professionals. The programme will focus on key industry themes such as experience design, innovation, governance, risk management and global demand trends through keynotes, workshops and executive discussions.
Enhancing Beijing’s global positioning
In addition to the main event, international buyers and media representatives will be invited to participate in a familiarisation programme showcasing Beijing’s meetings infrastructure, cultural assets and business environment. This initiative is expected to further strengthen the city’s profile as a global business events destination.
With the launch of CIMX, the collaboration is set to create new opportunities for international organisations entering the Chinese market, while enabling Chinese companies and institutions to expand their global engagement within the MICE industry.
Industry participation and registration
Exhibitor registration for CIMX 2026 is currently underway, with organisations across the global MICE sector invited to participate. An early registration incentive is available for exhibitors confirming participation before 31 May 2026.
