Follow Us Share Shankh Air Gets Green Light from Aviation Ministry Shankh Air, India's newest airline, has reached a major milestone on its road to operations: the Civil Aviation Ministry has approved it to fly in the nation. However, before the airline can formally start operating, it must receive approval from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). The airline's debut will increase regional mobility throughout India The hubs in Lucknow and Noida will be home to Shankh Air, slated to launch as Uttar Pradesh's first scheduled airline. According to the company website, the airline, which focuses on places with high demand and few direct flight choices, seeks to connect key cities across India via intrastate and interstate flights. "The company is further directed to comply with relevant provisions regulations of FDI, SEBl, etc, as well as other applicable rules & regulations in this regard," the letter of approval from the aviation ministry read. It further stated that the operating NOC will be good for three years. The airline's debut will increase regional mobility throughout India. The airline plans to run intrastate and interstate routes, mainly focusing on cities with significant demand and few direct flight options.
