British Airways Launches Grad Scheme 2024

New Opportunities at British Airways

British Airways has announced the opening of applications for 270 graduate and apprenticeship positions for 2024. These positions cover a range of fields, including customer service, aircraft maintenance, and digital roles, which are new additions this year. Successful candidates in the new Digital Graduate scheme will contribute to British Airways' £7 billion transformation plan. They will join a team focused on modernizing and upgrading the company’s IT infrastructure to enhance the digital experience for customers.

Graduates have the option to select from nine two-year programs, including Engineering, Finance, and Commercial Business. Apprentices can apply for one of 11 schemes, such as Business Professional and Ground Operations. Three available positions are located across the UK: a Customer Service Advisor in Manchester and Aircraft Maintenance roles at British Airways' hangar facilities in Glasgow and Cardiff.

Applications for graduate and apprentice placements have risen each year since the pandemic. In 2023, British Airways received more than 20,000 applications, nearly 10,000 more than in 2022. Graduate applications surged by 86 percent, while apprenticeship applications rose by 61 percent.

Throughout 2024, British Airways’ Strategic Resourcing Team, responsible for sourcing new talent through apprenticeships and graduate schemes, attended almost 350 career and job fair events and met approximately 70,000 young people to inspire them to consider an aviation career.
