Alaska Airlines Expands California Network with New Routes

Alaska Airlines Adds Santa Rosa Services and Returns to Long Beach

Alaska Airlines has announced the launch of four new nonstop routes from California, including new services from Santa Rosa and the return of flights from Long Beach with direct connectivity to Seattle.

The airline will introduce new seasonal routes from Charles M. Schulz–Sonoma County Airport to Boise, Phoenix and Salt Lake City beginning 1 November 2026. The services are expected to operate through April 2027 using Embraer E175 aircraft.

The new Santa Rosa routes will provide additional connectivity for travellers from Northern California, including access to winter leisure destinations and major western US cities. Phoenix will become another year-round travel option from Santa Rosa, while Boise and Salt Lake City will offer seasonal access during the winter travel period.

Alaska Airlines also confirmed its return to Long Beach Airport after a nearly 10-year hiatus. The airline will launch twice-daily year-round flights between Long Beach and Seattle from 8 September 2026 using Boeing 737 aircraft.

The airline said the addition of the Long Beach route will further strengthen connectivity between Seattle and Southern California.

Alaska Airlines also confirmed that its regional fleet operating from Santa Rosa is equipped with Starlink Wi-Fi connectivity, while the technology is expected to be introduced across its mainline fleet through 2026.

For travellers visiting California’s wine region, Alaska’s Wine Flies Free programme will continue to allow eligible passengers to check wine cases from Santa Rosa without additional baggage charges, subject to participating conditions.
