Air Canada Aeroplan and World of Hyatt Launch Loyalty Collaboration

Air Canada’s Aeroplan and World of Hyatt have announced a collaboration that enables members to earn and redeem rewards across both travel ecosystems.

The partnership connects airline and hotel loyalty offerings, allowing members to access benefits across a combined network of destinations served by Air Canada and properties within Hyatt’s global portfolio.

Expanded Earning and Redemption Options

Under the collaboration, Aeroplan members can redeem points for free night awards at participating Hyatt hotels and resorts. Redemption options include Category 1–4 and Category 1–7 properties, starting at 25,000 Aeroplan points.

World of Hyatt members, in turn, can redeem points for flight reward certificates valued at 30,000 Aeroplan points, applicable toward flights operated by Air Canada and its partner airlines.

The programs also allow point conversions between accounts. Members can convert World of Hyatt points to Aeroplan points at a 2:1 ratio, while eligible Aeroplan elite members can convert points in the reverse direction under specified limits.

“Hyatt is one of the world’s most admired hospitality brands, and we’re thrilled to bring World of Hyatt closer to Aeroplan Members,” said Scott O’Leary, Vice President, Loyalty and Product, Air Canada. “This collaboration creates meaningful value across the full travel journey—including new ways to earn, redeem and access benefits across both programs. It’s especially exciting for eligible Aeroplan Credit Cardholders, who will have the ability to earn accelerated Aeroplan points and World of Hyatt points on their Hyatt purchases – a truly unique feature.”

“We’re excited to bring World of Hyatt and Aeroplan, Canada’s leading travel loyalty program, together to make travel even more rewarding for our members,” said Laurie Blair, senior vice president of global marketing and loyalty, Hyatt. “This collaboration creates more ways for members to earn, redeem and enjoy benefits across both programs, while unlocking more seamless travel journeys from start to finish.”

Integrated Benefits Across Travel

Members who link their accounts can access additional earning opportunities on eligible hotel stays. Aeroplan members may choose to earn Aeroplan points instead of World of Hyatt points on qualifying stays at participating hotels.

Cardholders of eligible Aeroplan credit cards issued in Canada can earn both Aeroplan points and World of Hyatt bonus points on Hyatt stays. The earning structure varies based on card tier, with different rates applied per Canadian dollar spent.

Status and Loyalty Features

The collaboration introduces status-related benefits across both programs. Aeroplan Elite Status members and eligible credit cardholders can participate in time-bound challenges to achieve World of Hyatt status tiers, including Discoverist, Explorist, and Globalist, based on qualifying nights.

Eligible Aeroplan credit cardholders also receive automatic Discoverist status and annual tier-qualifying night credits.

For World of Hyatt members, annual benefits include a flight credit for use with Air Canada upon linking accounts. Additional status-matching or fast-track opportunities for Aeroplan Elite Status are expected to be introduced later in 2026.

Program Access and Availability

Members can link their Aeroplan and World of Hyatt accounts to access the combined benefits. All offers, rewards, and conversions are subject to program terms and conditions, including eligibility criteria and redemption limits.

The collaboration reflects a broader trend in the travel sector toward integrated loyalty ecosystems, enabling members to earn and use rewards across multiple travel categories.
